Why does distilled water not conduct electricity, whereas rain water does?

because rain water contain salt acid as well as minerals which is good conductor of electricity. and distilled water did not contain salt

Rainwater is a form of distilled water but with a few major differences.


Distilled water does not have any free ions to conduct electricity whereas rainwater which is stored in the cloud before coming down as rain, takes in impurities from the atmosphere and as a result of which has free ions to conduct electricity.
