Answer:

❤️❤️HCl is acidic only when moist or aqueous. Hydrogen Chloride gas will turn blue litmus paper red only if either the gas is moist or the litmus paper is wet with some pure water. This is because when the gas comes into contact with the water on the paper, it becomes acidic, turning the litmus paper red.❤️❤️

✨➡️✅✔HCl is acidic in nature. But acids release H+ ions in water which are furthur made H3O (hydronium ions) which are responsible for all its acidic characteristics. Acids release these H+ ions in water only for creation of H3O ions. Due to this, when dry litmus paper is brought to it, due to absence of water, the H3O ions are not released which results in absence of its acidic characteristics. When moist litmus is brought to it, the H+ ions in presence of water are formed to H3O ions. These show their acidic character and turn blue litmus paper red.⬅️✅✔✨
