Why does dry ice sublime

Carbon dioxide exists as a solid in much lower temperature than ice. All solid sublime but CO2 has hight rate if sublimation. This process is very similar to boiling only that the atmospheric pressure is very low to allow CO2 to become liquid.

On top of that the temp on earth is too warm for CO2 to remain solid therefore vaporized. Therfore it goes through sublimation by changing directly from solid to gas......

Carbon dioxide exists as a solid at much lower temperature than water . This makes dry ice very excellent in making things very cold . Water ice has to melt in liquid form before it evaporates inti gas. Dry ice sublimes directly into a gas.
Hope this helps
