The Earth completes one rotation in 23 hours 56 minutes 4 seconds. So by busting out your handy dandy calculator you can convert the hours to minutes… 23 x 60 (60 minutes in an hour) which is 1380. Add the 56 minutes to that and that gives you 1436 minutes. There are 60 seconds in a minute, so multiply 1436 x 60 which gives us 86,160 seconds. Now tack on the extra 4 seconds for a total of 86,164.
