Good evening dear ♥♥

The reason according to your question is very simple that When food is damaged in such a way that it becomes unfit for consumption by human beings is called rancidity. When edible oils are stored for a longer period of time then oxidation occurs. There is carbon-carbon double bonds in fats and oils which are broken down by the oxygen in the free space or atmosphere.....

Over the time, the oils undergo oxidation due to exposure to oxygen for a long time. This causes rancidity in oils.
