In an open circuit the path of the current is incomplete so electric does not pass in an open circuit

Explanation:

a electric current needs a closed path if wires so the current can pass but if its open the wires r not join and thus current doesn't flow..

A conductive material is one that electricity can travel through easily. In the open circuit the current can not flow from one end of the power source to the other. Because of this there is no current flow, and therefore the light does not turn on.
