why does electron rotate around nucleus?

Due to centripetal force and electrostatic force of attraction And also as per coulomb's law, negative and positive charge attract each other which too happens in the case of rotation of electron around nucleus

JunabulJishan: but, it can cause 2 things. pull in or push out. like if you were in between the edge of earth, you wont rotate around it, unless the rotation was generated artificially. although, thanks

because of  centrifugal force of the revolving electron just exactly balances the attractive force of the nucleus.Electrons were once thought to orbit a nucleus much as planets orbit the sun.
