why does everyone needs points it is not even ecencial for our life also some times it makes us feel bad because of this silly race for these useless points but that doesn't mean not to share answers so whats the answer for my question why are points even needed

the points are given to people to encourage them to give answers.

But people are being greedy in climbing ranks, and give useless answers just to earn points and climb ranks.

And maybe you need points in order to ask your own question (that's just my opinion)
