Why does foaming capacity of hard water increase on addition of Sodium Carbonate (Na2CoO3)?

✔The Cleansing action of soaps decreases in hard water because:

✔Hard water contains Calcium and magnesium ions which react with sodium carbonate to produce insoluble carbonates of higher fatty acids.

✔This hardness canbe removed by addition of Sodium Carbonate.
