It is simple carbohydrate with unbound aldehyde or ketone groups. In the laboratory, we used Benedict's transfection to test for a special decline: Glucose Benedict's reagent Aqua-Blue begins. Since it is hot in the presence of reducing sugar, it becomes orange from yellow color.

Hi mate
Question
Why does glucose give a positive benedict test
Answer
The common disaccharides lactose and maltose are directly detected by Benedict's reagent because each contains a glucose with a free reducing aldehyde moiety after isomerization. Sucrose is thus a non-reducing sugar which does not react with Benedict's reagent.
