Explanation:

Gold and silver are noble metals, that is, they have the least reactivity in the activity series of metals. So they do not react with HCl or H2SO4.

Answer:

according to the reactivity series of metals silver and gold are the least reactive metals after platinum and are highly stable. they are placed below hydrogen in the series. only those metals can react with hydrochloric acid that are placed above hydrogen like potassium sodium iron etc. therefore silver and gold do not react with HCl however hno3 and HCl combined in a ratio of 3:1 can corrode highly stable metals like gold due to highly corrosive nature.
