Heat become opprsive after the rains. This is called October heat. The apparent movement of sun towards south increases insolation and this increases the temperature. Also, withdrawal of South west monsoon leads to clear sky which allows high insolation and thus temp.

when rainfall occurs it leads to clear sky with a moisture in air and produces cooling effect but as the temperature increases the cooling affect reduces and gets converted to warm air and heat increases

hope helps
