Why does heating elemtn of bmheater becomes red hit but bit the connecting wiere?

The heating element of the heater glows as it blocks current from it to pass which produces heat and due to its high resistance it does not melt but produce heat and glow . the wire inside the cord allows the electricity to pass through it.
