1. It collects blood from stomach,small intestine,and pancreas and passes it to heart for pumping
2) Other than circulation the hepatic portal system produces bile salts and bile pigments which gives colour to the waste product. The bile juice is secreted in small intestine in order to release bicarbonates and salts which can be further removed through urinexthe undigested food is given colour by bile pigment and it is removed in the form of faeces
