Icebergs float on water because they are made of ice They are dangerous because we can only see 10% of it and radars can't detect them that

the density of ice is less than the density of water .

the density of ice is 0.917 g cm³ and that of water is 1g cm ³. Therefore icebergs are able to float on water.

icebergs floats on water with 90% of major part inside water and only a small part of about 10% is outside water. Therefore it becomes difficult for the driver of ship to estimate the size of the icebergs and hence it is dangerous and may collide with the ship and cause damage.
