Answer:-

Well I am teacher & my little student ask this question and I answer him :

The bar magnet poles that are North and South attracts themselves because North Pole emits magnetic lines and South poles absorb these lines. So when we put North and South pole closer North Pole emits magnetic field lines and South pole absorbs it by virtue of which they attracts themselves.

The north pole of magnet exhibit magnetic field line, totally similar to impulse of our body.

These magnetic lines are get attracted or accepted by south pole of magnet. As a result north and south pole attract each other.

We can easily understand it by directive property.

Have a good day
