On moving from left to right in a period, the atomic size of elements decreases due to which the electrostatic force of attraction on electrons increases which makes their removal tough. Hence, large amount of energy will be required for the removal of electrons and thus, ionisation enthalpy increases across a period.
Hope this will help you.
