when neutral body gains or losses electron ionization takes place.
it takes place to dissolve a compound in a solvent.when a compound is dissolved in a solvent it breaks the electrostatic force between the molecules leading to their ionization.solvent breaks the attraction between the molecules because it has dielectric constant and dielectric constant is inversely proportional to electrostatic force of attraction.therefore more dielectric constant of any solvent greater will be the ionization.
