Process of transfer of heat which can take place without any medium.
when there is a hot object near us, the heat from it can travel to us by radiation without any contact with the object. when we sit near a bonfire, the heat produced by the fire travels by radiation to us and thus our body absorbs the heat and we may feel warm.
