A ship dips to a larger depth in fresh water than in marine water because the density of fresh water is less than marine water which has other materials mixed in it.
Since , the density of the ship is same and we know that an object with higher density dips deeper because of which the ship dips deeper in fresh water as the ship is more denser than the ship in marine water.
