Why does it not show velocity as it also means change in speed

It ain't necessary for speed to change whenever there's a change in velocity. It happens when a body is moving with a uniform speed but it changes it's direction continuously.

An example is given in NCERT class 9 book, uniform circulatory motion. In it, the speed is constant & direction changes continuously, which results in uniform speed but variable velocity.
