Answer:

Rudyard Kipling, in his poem "If", advises the youth not to be too smart because over smartness leads to over confidence and over confidence kills all the potentials of the youth.

Explanation:

The poem "If" encourages the youth to be patient, frank, truthful, trustworthy, humble and courageous. They would have to face criticism, resistance, lies and hatred. When people blame them, they shouldn't lose faith. They must be optimistic and have faith in themselves.  They must maintain their integrity, beliefs and principles, but they must not look too good or too smart.

According to the poet, if youth thinks if youths think very highly of themselves. they will become over confident. If they become over confident about their intelligence and potentials, they will stop working hard and become arrogant. So he advises youth not to be smart.
