KMnO4 solutions are dark purple. When used as a titrant, as soon as the endpoint is reached and the KMnO4- is in excess, the solution has a permanent pink hue (provided that the solution is initially colorless). Thus KMnO4 acts as its own indicator.

KMnO4 acts as a self – indicator. KMnO4 solutions are dark purple in colour. It is due to +7 oxidation state of Manganese (Mn). ... KMnO4 is usually titrated against solutions like Ferrous Ammonium Sulphate ((NH4)2Fe(SO4)2(H2O)6) and Oxalic acid (C2H2O4) which are acidic in nature.
