Why does kosi river bring such a huge quality of sediments from upper reaches?

It comes down a much steeper slope and therefore has a much higher velocity to carry sediments with it. There are three tributaries that combine just before the plains, so that is sediment from three upstream rivers that comes together in one strong flow. Because of this, the uptake of silt is higher than most rivers.
