Answer:

Change of speed

causes change of direction

Light refracts whenever it travels at an angle into a substance with a different refractive index (optical density). ... This change of direction is called refraction. When light enters a more dense substance (higher refractive index), it 'bends' more towards the normal line.

hope it helps :-)

Answer:

The bending occurs because light travels more slowly in a denser medium. ... Each color from the original beam of light has its own particular wavelength (or color) and each wavelength is slowed differently by the glass. The amount of refraction increases as the wavelength of light decreases.
