lime water turns milky white after meeting co2 because lime water is calcium hydroxide in water which looks clear . when it comes in contact with co2 , it reacts to form calcium carbonate, which is a white solid and does not dissolve in water , so it comes out as a solution and gives a milky appearance.

When carbon dioxide is passed through lime water it reacts with it to form calcium carbonate...n turns milky
