hi
Carbon dioxide (CO2) turns lime water milky due to the formation of insoluble calcium carbonate, CaCO3. Sulphurdioxide (SO2) also does the same, but slowly, as it reacts with calcium hydroxide to form insoluble calcium sulphite.
