Why does lithum forms covalent bon unlike other alkali metals for ionic bond

The atomic and ionic radii of Li are very small. Therefore, the nuclear attraction is strong compared to the rest of the alkali metals, which leads to a greater polarising power in Li ion, and the formation of covalent bond..... Hope it helps uh..
