Why does magnetic poles exist in pairs?​

Magnetism is produced by electric current. A magnet will always have a pair of poles, a north and a south because magnetic field lines are continuous and always form closed loops. Each magnetic field line is directed from the north pole to it's south pole.If we break a magnet in half,then both halves will have a north and a south pole.
