Functionally, the mammary glands produce milk ; structurally they are modified sweat glands.

The female reproductive system includes the ovaries,fallopian tubes, vagina, uterus,vulva,mammary glands and breasts.

it is because when a female give birth to a child the lactation starts for feeding and during intense lactation there is lactaional amenorrhea takes place due to which menstrual cycle stops to prevent consecutive pregnancy that is why mammary glands are essential part of reproductive system.
