Mass is constant because mass is quantity of matter present in an object and it does not changeswith gravity. Mass of an object isactually the amount of matter it contains and it would remain the same unless there is change in the amount of matter whereasweight of an object is the force on it due to gravity..

Weight changes because weight depends upon gravity.....
Mass does not depend on anything
