Why does mawsynram get more than 11,873 mm of rainfall?

This is because it lies in the area of left side of western ghats.
When the winds comes from the Arabian ocean then the area in left side of the western ghats receives rainfall and the area in the right get warm air.

according to meteorologists, the reason for this is the mawsynram's location. It is close to Bangladesh and Bay of Bengal. The tiny cluster receives so much rain.
