Why does maximum damage from an earthquake happen at the epicentre? (Please answer fast)

Answer:

It is because of following reasons:

1)The epicenter is the place where disturbance occurred in the earth.

2)It is the center point of earthquake.

3)Hence,it travels through the earth and reaches crust.

4)Then,it spreads through out the region.

5)As it is centre point therefore more disaster occurs in that region.
