In general, fats and proteins do take time to digest as compared to others. Meat contains a lot of protein and fat. Therefore it takes more time to digest meat. It takes 6 to 8 hours for food to pass through the stomach and small intestine. It normally takes up to 24-72 hours to digest red meat depending on your digestive track.
