Answer:

Hey dear ,

Every month ,

the uterus lining gets thicker to prepare for a fertilized egg if the woman becomes pregnant. If the egg doesn't get fertilized, that lining is released from the body as blood through the vagina. This monthly process is called menstruation or a period.

hope it's helpful for you .

Answer:

HELLO SANJU.....

Menstruation occurs in a female once a month which can vary from both sides...

At the time of birth a lot of ova are already there in the ovaries...

At about the age of 12 these ova start moving towards the uterus...They may or may not encounter a sperm in the fallopian tube...

A richly blood supplied, spongy wall called placenta is formed at the wall of the uterus.

Since there is no fertilisation...there is no use of the placenta...

Therefore this placenta is shed through the female urinary duct...and is called menstruation..informally know as periods.

The first menstrual cycle is called menarche which occurs at about 12 - 13 years of age.

The end of menstrual cycle is called menopause which occurs at about 50 years of age

hope it helps
