Because in Rajasthan there is India's largest desert because sand is good absorber and good radiant of heat the mercury rises. In Jammu and Kashmir because of coldness it falls down

Rajasthan is essentially a desert zone. It has dwelled in the centers at a very distance from the sea. There are limited vegetation and substantially less rain. Tropical and arid blows call 'loo' blows here due to the growth of a low-pressure zone. This generates the heat to rise to a much high level. Jammu and Kashmir due to its spot at a towering altitude level have a less heat gain. As the altitude rises, the temperature drops down.
