micelle formation takes place when we add the detergent to water. the polar part of the washing powder will diffuse in the water as water too is a polar compound. and the non polar thst is the tail is diffused in non polar compound that is the grease and oil on the clothes .when many of this compounds stick to one oil particle they form a micelle. hope it helps u
