jst like tap root and adventageous root

tap root-Tap roots are modified in to different structures, these modified structures carry out specific functions like food storage. Such roots are referred to as modified tap roots. They are different types of modified tap roots like Fusiform, Napiform, Conical, Tuberous or tubercular roots, pneumatophores.

adventageous root:-Adventitious roots are the roots that are produced from any portion of the plant other than the radicle. The root system may be changed to different forms for special functions like storage, mechanical support and vital functions.

Modification of root  in plants

Explanation:

  • Roots of some plants modify their structure, shape, etc.
  • These modifications are performing functions, other than absorption and conduction of water and minerals.
  • Modified roots may perform functions such as support, respiration, and storage.
  • If the root either tap root or Adventitious Root perform other than its normal fuction it is called modification of roots.
  • Conical, fusiform, napiform are tap root modification for the purpose of storage.
  • Prop root ,stilt root are produced not from the radicle assimilatory roots are aerial roots that are photosynthetic
  • Vegetative reproduction and competition with other plants
