Answer:
atmosphere is caught by gravity but the gravity in moon is in very less amount so it cant catch atmosphere all the time. hence there is no atmosphere in the moon.

Answer:
The ability of a space body to maintain a reasonably thick atmosphere is usually contingent upon three factors:
- Sufficient gravity to hold the atmosphere.
- Sufficiently powerful electromagnetic field to protect the atmosphere.
- Sufficient distance from its parent star or stars to avoid radiative ablation.
In our own solar system, combinations of these factors impact planets as well as moons; Mercury theoretically has enough gravity to maintain some atmosphere, but has essentially none due to its proximity to the Sun and lack of strong magnetic field. Saturn's moon Titan is not very heavy, but is far enough from the Sun to hang onto heavy molecular gases like methane. The majority of moons, however, primarily lack atmospheres due to weak gravity
