Why does mouth dry up and heart beat increse during public speaking?

Hey mate!

This seems to be a very common trait, especially in non-confident people. This is just your body's way of telling you that you are nervous, and this does not happen during public speaking only, but in any chore that you tend to be nervous or extremely careful about. Other signs may include shaking, sweating etc. (the list goes on honestly, and faltering speech might be the most nightmarish symptom, you know, during a speech as you've mentioned in your question)

But this is nothing unusual, or harmful. If you think that any of this might affect you on the moment you require to be confident, try meditating the last night, or just deep breathing [even a few seconds before the big thing(public speaking in your case)]
