Mrs. Packeltide wanted to kill a tiger because she wanted to show Loona Bimberton that she was not less than her in any way. She was jealous of Loona Bimberton as she travelled 11 miles in an aeroplane with an Algerian Aviator. Mrs. Packletide wanted to snatch that limelight which Loona Bimberton got by doing this. It was only possible if she could do more daring act than her, So she decided to kill the tiger.

Mrs Packletide wished to kill a tiger as ashe was jealous of her friend Loona Bimberton who had travelled in an Aeroplane with an Algerian aviator.In order to outshine the fame of Loona Bimberton Mrs Packletide wanted to feat in Tiger hunting.She couldn't tolerate her social prestige to be lesser than Loona Bimberton to outshine she wanted to kill a Tiger through a sum of thousand rupees with a help of the Villagers and with Miss Louisa Mebbin her paid companion
