Because she doesn't want her sister to know that she has stolen the bureau and the clock, and wants it in her part of share of property.

Because she didn't want to let her sister elizabeth knows that she had stolen her father's bureau, clock which she have to share with her sister as her father died. As she didn't want to give the share of her father's those things, she stolen clock, bureau, chappals etc before her sister's arraival. Victoria is her daughter and due to the above reasons she warns victoria not to tell about those things to elizabeth
