why does mumbai receive more rainfall in summer season while chennai receive rainfall in winter?

Mumbai lies in the windward side of the western ghat where the south-west monsoon strike first n r forced 2 share their moisture whereas chennai lies in the east which doesnot recieve any rainfall due 2 southwest monsoon.the rainfall in winter is substantially less than mumbai.
