Why does Mumbai receives more rainfall in summer while Chennai recieves in winter?

Mumbai is a coastal area with Arabian Sea near it and other water bodies thus due to high mousture level Mumbai recieves more rainfall than Chennai because Chennai is near Bay of Bengal which receive rainfall in retreating monsoons.

the south west monsoon is of two branches arabian sea branch and bay of bengal branch.Mumbai receives rainfall from the arabian sea branch from the advancing monsoon whereas  in the bay of bengal branch the winds do not bring very much rain in advancing monsoon so chennai receives rainfall in retreating monsoon in winter.
