Why does Na not react with Nitric acid

Actually Na can react with HNO3 under special conditions like change in NTP.If it helps please mark the braniest answer.

If solid NaCl is exposed to HNO3 vapor then mass spectrometry will show some HCl in the gas phase and x-ray diffraction will show some NaNO3 in the solid phase. Some other species may also appear in the gas phase.
