There is, amongst others, a criticism against Nehru that he was a pedantic and this is what made him discover his own Country - Discovery of India. Since humility was not one quality of Nehru, he has been variously described as an aristocrat, dictator and ‘ Lotus Eater from Kashmir'.
In Indian Mythology Gangs is a deity. There are references where she emerges from the water body and after giving a boon or some good words, vanishes. May be that is the reason why Nehru called ‘ The River of Ganga’ .

The Ganga is the river of India because it is loved by India’s people. Many racial memories of Indians are related around it.
