Being a citizen of Nepal I know the history in brief as well witness events happening. Nepal has just formed its seventh constitution till now. Following are the reason that Nepal changed its constitution six times.
During Rana dynasty The Ranas announce a constitution allowing some rights to citizen just to protect their rule. But this constitution never came into effect.
At the time of its independence from Rana dynasty, a treaty was signed between congress, Ranas and The King. And an interim constitution was formed in 1950 that changed Nepal into democratic country.
In 1958 constitution was formed by parliament to practice democracy.
BUT In 1961 King Mahendra aborted the constitution and announced Panchayat System (without political party system) in Nepal Also announce a new constituion in 1962.
In 1989 Nepalese parties announced riots and protests against government (known as Janandolan first) after which King Birendra reinstated multiparty democracy in Nepal. Announced election in 1990. And formed a new govenment and parliament which later promulgated a consitution and gave some special rights to Nepalese.
On 2002 King birendra was murdered and King Gyanendra crowned as King. In 2005 King Gyanendra aborted the parliament and announed himself as head of council of ministers taking governance under his control. Later top leaders in Nepal took maoist in belief and signed an agreement to abolish Shah Dynasty in Nepal. And Leaders announced protest (known as second Janandolan). In 2006 King Gyanendra reistated parliament which brought biggest changes in Nepal as End of shah dynasty, End of maoist war, secularism, and announced election next year. Also formed interim constitution which made a consitution assembly to form a inclusive consitution.
In 2012 first assembly was aborted by time and another election was held. In 2015 assembly formed a constitution with major changes like, Three step governance Federal government, Province Govt. And local govt. Giving maximum rights and power to local government.
So the main reason is political unstabilty but in brief many circumstances were the fact for changing constitution.
