The nervous system is made up of nerves. A nerve is a bundle of nerve cells. A nerve cell that carries messages is called a neuron (Figure below). The messages carried by neurons are called nerve impulses. Nerve impulses can travel very quickly because they are electrical impulses.

Becoz they are unidirectional after transferring the message to spinal chord here required the fast speed for signal to be reached to the effective organ. Here acts the motor nerve which rapidly transfer the signal to the effective organ then our body moves . These all action by our organs are actioned in few seconds.
