Why does nitrogen have very low electron gain enthalpy?

Nitrogen has electronic configuration as
1s2 2s2 2p3
As there are 7 electrons in its ground state.
Electron gain enthalpy implies on adding an electron to it.
But here there is half filled configuration for outermost orbit of Nitrogen so it would like to maintain its stability.
Hope it helps!
