Why does noble gases have comparatively large atomic sizes

It is so because in case of inert ornoble gases all the orbitals arecompletely filled means they have s2p6 configuration and hence inter electronic repulsions are maximum. Moreover in case of noble gases atomic radius is determined by vandervals radius which is larger than both ionic as well as covalent radii.
